TTTech, technology leader in robust networked safety controls, releases the next generation of its successful high-speed communication TTP Controller for data buses with speeds of up to 25 Mbit/s. This next ASIC version is lead free and has undergone intensive physical tests, including liquid-to-liquid tests, further demonstrating its reliability.
TTTech's TTP Controller is an integrated device implementing functionalities and features described in the SAE AS6003 standard. The product is designed using the DO 254-compliant C2NF chip IP model. The standard TTP Controllers are available for cross-industry applications and have been introduced to the market in 2002.
The ITAR free device has been designed according to DO-178 B DAL A and DO-254 DAL A. It has been used and certified in various modular and distributed control systems, including the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and the Airbus A380. It has also been applied in the engine control of the Lockheed Martin F-16 and the Aermacchi M-346. It is in development for the fly-by-wire systems on the Embraer 450/500 and the Bombardier CSeries. The TTP Controller has thus accumulated more than 20 million hours of uninterrupted in-flight operation, proving its maturity.
The next ASIC generation has now been released after passing intensive physical stress tests, including liquid-to-liquid tests. For these tests, the TTP Controller was placed into liquid thermal shock chambers, consisting of separately controlled hot and cold baths, resulting in immediate product temperature changes. All of TTTech's tested TTP Controllers remained fully operational during the test, which is considered to be the most stressful test available for chip hardware.
"The results of the liquid-to-liquid tests have demonstrated the reliability of our product once more and have proven that the combined, uninterrupted operation time of over 2300 years of the TTP Controllers is no coincidence. We are very happy to introduce the next generation of this successful solution and are looking forward to continuing our close cooperation with our customers," states Reinhard Maier, Director Products & Projects Aerospace at TTTech.
TTTech introduced the new TTP Controller together with ams, a leading global designer and manufacturer of high-performance analog ICs and sensor solutions. "Since we released our first TTP product in 1998, the TTP Controller family has increased our market strength in aerospace applications," says Bernd Gessner, EVP and GM at ams.
The next generation of the TTP Controller completed testing in April 2014 and is now available through all TTTech sales channels.
