The TTTECH Story

It all started with a question:
How can we make complex computer systems used in various machines, such as cars, airplanes, mobile, and industrial machinery, as dependable and safe as possible?

In 1998, Professor Hermann Kopetz, his son Georg, and former student Stefan Poledna set out to answer it. They founded TTTECH, originally standing short for Time-Triggered Technology, as a spin-off of the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien). Their mission was to develop reliable computer systems with a focus on dependability and real-time safety, building the foundation for creating safe, secure and more autonomous solutions for the future.

What started as extensive research at the Institute for Real-Time Systems has evolved into a global force in safety-critical innovation. TTTECH pioneered time-triggered networking—a breakthrough that redefined how machines communicate in real time, without fail. From air and spacecraft to the energy industry, industrial automation, and mobile machinery, our systems now operate in industries where failure is not an option.

But our story isn’t just about technology.

It’s about people - those who are passionate about innovation and make it possible.

It’s about trust - earned through long-lasting partnerships and continuous dedication.

It’s about growth through transformation - powered by bold ambitions, curiosity and grit.

Today, we continue to lead with purpose, advancing safe and secure technologies to enable a connected, human-centric, and sustainable world.

TTTECH – Navigating tomorrow safely.

Our values

TRUSTWORTHY

We are TRUSTWORTHY.

We build systems that the world relies on—where safety, security, and dependability are not optional, but essential. Our customers and partners trust us to deliver what matters most: performance without compromise, and relationships built to last. We engineer systems that are designed to never fail—because safety, security, and dependability are non-negotiable.

Thriving

We are THRIVING.

We grow by challenging the status quo and staying curious. From a university lab to a global technology leader, we’ve never stopped pushing forward. In fast-moving industries, we stay ahead—curious, bold, and committed to shaping what’s next. Our teams thrive because we empower them to lead, not follow. We believe progress is a mindset.

Transformative

We are TRANSFORMATIVE.

We don’t wait for the future to happen — we want to play a role in shaping it together with our customers and partners. With every system deployed, we push boundaries to create a more autonomous, connected, and human-centric future. Through innovative safe and secure technologies, we enable autonomy, connectivity, and sustainability in a world that demands all three.
