On September 27, 2022, 500 participants met in Vienna’s magnificent Hofburg imperial palace for the annual The Autonomous Main Event. While this is an ideal stage for the “who is who” of the business community to network and exchange ideas, it is also a perfect opportunity to take stock of what is happening in the world of international research and development.

As of October 2022, Dr. Dirk Linzmeier will become CEO and member of the Executive Board of TTTech Auto AG. This was unanimously agreed upon by the TTTech Auto Supervisory Board.

TTTech Auto raised 285 million US dollars (250 million euros) from Aptiv PLC (NYSE: APTV) and Audi in its latest funding round. Aptiv is investing 228 million US dollars (200 million euros), while Audi is increasing its existing stake by 57 million US dollars (50 million euros). With this latest funding round and a valuation of more than 1 billion US dollars, TTTech Auto confirms its strong position amid a growing number of auto tech unicorns.

At “The Autonomous” event in Vienna, an international group of experts discussed how EC funding contributes to tackling the biggest safety challenges in autonomous mobility.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) is providing TTTech Auto with €30 million of funding for further growth. The funding will foster TTTech Auto’s continuous innovation and help grow its global footprint based on technological advances. These include the further development of its safety software platform MotionWise and the potential introduction of additional leading-edge software products.

Car and rail Over-the-Air software updates may soon become safer and more secure thanks to the results of the EU-funded UP2DATE project. The first project milestones were presented to the Industrial Advisory Board in an online conference this summer.

A joint paper submitted by TTTech Labs Corporate Scientist Silviu Craciunas with researchers from the Technical University of Denmark, has won the Emerging Technologies Best Paper Award at the 25th IEEE International Conference on Emerging Technologies and Factory Automation (ETFA 2020). The conference took place from 8-11 September 2020 in Vienna, Austria and brought together experts from industry and academia.

Six speakers presented their insights into the major question, “How can artificial intelligence support safe autonomous driving?”.

Apart from its annual event in Vienna, The Autonomous also organizes Chapter Events dedicated to topics concerning safe automated driving and a global safety reference. The first of these was about "Safety Architectures" and was held as a virtual event, attracting around 180 participants.

The UP2DATE project team held its kick-off event in Bologna earlier this year. UP2DATE is an EU funded project that seeks to provide new software paradigms for safe and secure software updates of mixed-criticality cyber-physical systems (MCCPS) found in the automotive and rail sectors.

TTTech Auto acquires the Turkish software company Red Pine Software. TTTech Auto continues its growth strategy with this acquisition and increases its software development capacities for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Automated Driving (AD) series development projects featuring its flagship product MotionWise. Red Pine and its 60 employees are experts in automotive embedded software engineering with a focus on ADAS.
