AI may be taking over more and more routine tasks in the future, but we will always need ideas – developed by humans for humans. That’s why the Vienna Business Agency has created the “Erlebnisraum” – a dedicated space in Vienna where children of all ages and social backgrounds can learn how to develop their ideas, using science and technology.

The space is decorated in bright, fun colors with modular wooden furniture that encourages exchange and exploration. Every day of the week (except on Sunday) workshops are being held there on different aspects of STEM. Kids can learn about IT, green tech, famous inventions made in Vienna, and more. On a dedicated “idea wall” the youngsters’ ideas are collected and displayed to inspire those who come after them.

TTTech supports the Vienna Business Agency's "Erlebnisraum" project as part of our anniversary campaign #IMPACT25. On January 17, some of our team members, including TTTech CEO and co-founder Georg Kopetz and Teodora Valenti-Schober, Vice President Global Marketing & Communications, had an opportunity to visit the space and learn more about what the Vienna Business Agency is doing to foster a passion for science and technology among people living in Vienna.

“In its early days, TTTech has often used the great services of the Vienna Business Agency. For us, this is an opportunity to give back to the local community that has supported us from day one,” said Georg Kopetz, invited to share his thoughts. “The future brings many opportunities, but also challenges posed by climate change and security attacks. Science and technology allow children to face these challenges by developing their own ideas. This is an important step on the path to their professional future, but also the future of our city and our society.”

“Who doesn't know anything, has to believe everything,” Vienna Business Agency Managing Director Gerhard Hirczi quoted the famous Austrian writer Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach in his opening remarks. He stressed that equipping people with the skills and resources to find out the truth for themselves and increase trust in scientific thought is the declared goal of the initiative.

The cute and playful ambiance invited the TTTech team to once again see the world from a child's perspective and got us curious about the exciting workshops being held there. If you are based in or visiting Vienna, we encourage you to drop by on a Saturday when the room is open to families with children. Have a look at the program here.
